Houston Area Parkinson’s Society
HAPS is a non-profit serving eight counties in the greater Houston area, providing free programs and services to individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease. With over 40 weekly classes—ranging from exercise, speech, and music therapy to yoga, dance, and support groups—HAPS is a vital resource for the local Parkinson’s community.
To better reflect the organization’s mission and reach, HAPS received a grant to partner with Savage Brands in developing a new brand identity. After in-depth interviews with individuals living with Parkinson’s, including leaders and professionals, we uncovered insights that shaped a more human, hopeful narrative.
I led the visual rebrand, beginning with a new logo that puts focus on the “P” for Parkinson’s while preserving the tulip symbol—representing strength, life, and resilience. I extended the new identity across print and digital assets, including stationery, newsletters, PowerPoint templates, and brochures.
The renamed newsletter, JOURNEY, symbolizes the ongoing path of those living with Parkinson’s and HAPS’s commitment to walking beside them every step of the way.
The new mission—Using a whole-human approach to community building, we reduce the fear and isolation associated with a Parkinson’s diagnosis—captures the heart of HAPS and the compassion that drives their work.
